This is a huge reversal since the days when Central Banks <em>sold<\/em> gold all the way down to $300. Could this be a huge contrarian call that gold has peaked?<\/p>\n<p>What caught my eye in this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/0\/c0025500-10ef-11e1-a95c-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1dx4ylN2H\" rel=\"nofollow\">FT.com article<\/a> is that China overtook India to become the largest consumer of gold jewelry in the third quarter. Chinese jewelry consumption rose 13% from a year earlier to 138.6 tons, while buying from India \u2013 traditionally the world\u2019s top consumer \u2013 <strong>fell 26%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It looks like the world\u2019s most steadfast gold bugs are actually shying away from the yellow metal.
